4 Faeries went out to play, near Downtown not far away!

New costumes mean new pictures, and new pictures mean photoshoots! Faeries have a hard time standing still, even when they're getting their pictures taken *laugh*. We took this video on the move - it made us smile, and we hope it does the same for you!

There's nothing like a midday constitutional. Particularly in a petticoat!

Snapping Pictures

Every time we finish a new costume, I get all excited because I can put it into the world and take it's picture! Our performers are so fun to be around (they leave me glowing for days afterwards), and are very patience when I say silly things like, "see that tree over there? yeah. The one hanging over all the poison oak? Well, how about we take a picture with you up in it?! Do you want to climb up there?" There are so incredible...they pretty much always say yes, and the photo turns out even better than I thought it would.

Here are some photos from a shoot we did yesterday at our Head Quarters with Miss Clementine and Miss Olive from our Sacramento Family.

Miss Olive and Miss Clementine attempting a hand clapping game...and failing...but laughing!

Yes, they were really in mid air! I can't even say how many times it took us to get this shot. It is hard to catch a Faerie flying with a camera!

Miss Olive walked by an old barn on our property...and I quickly asked if she wouldn't mind slipping inside. She saw the 100 year old barn, mouse droppings, and shaky boards and said..."absolutely! Let's do it!".

Miss Clementine and Miss Olive in our Redwood Grove. They wanted to climb ON the stump, but after trying to figure out how to do that with petticoats and possibly poison oak covered ankles, we decided sitting behind it would be just fine for now! We are still crossing our fingers that none of us will get the dreaded rash.

Bloomers. As close as we get to pants.

I have been thinking about how to create more characters for little gentlemen, and have had the Magician Character in the back of my mind for awhile. The hardest thing for me...I know it seems funny...is how to wear pants! If you notice, each of our characters wear skirts, which makes it easy for us to move and yet still look fancy. Then, the perfect solution popped up...bloomers! Meet our new Magician Character. Her coat and tails are elegant, and fancy enough for our Faeries to still feel beautiful.

It's almost December!

She loves Purple...can you tell?

Ooohh....you should see the mess of fabric on my floor! We've just created a new character, our Sugarplum Faerie! Here is a cute photo of Miss Violet modeling our new threads. She is gearing up to play the Sugarplum Faerie over 10 times in December, and 3 of them are at Lisa's Tea Treasures in Campbell!

You can read more about the Sugar Plum Tea at Lisa's Tea Treasures here.

We also have created several versions of our Holiday Elf, more photos to come soon!

Our wings fly all the way down to Los Angeles!

I am very excited to announce the opening of (drum roll please...), Happily Ever Laughter - Los Angeles! After many, many requests from parents down south, we have finally extended our faerie family (and Pirates, and Mermaids...wow!) to the Los Angeles area.

You can meet our sparkly friends on our webpage here (just look under Los Angeles near the bottom of the page). Take a peek, there are lots of neat stories about who they are!

It has been quite the exciting journey. After holding Faerie summer camp (that is what we called our training down there, as it was so nice to be all warm and sun kissed after this foggy Bay Area summer!) for the past month, our Faeries are up and ready to fly!

Up, up, up...and away!

Ok...time to meet the Faeries!

When Faeries get together...

...they tend to find amazing things. This afternoon was definitely a fun one. Here is a little peek for you!

Miss Maple Photo Shoot

Miss Maple, (our performer that has been performing with Happily Ever Laughter the longest out of our entire Faerie Family!) came by our Tree House Headquarters to update her photos yesterday. She just recently received a brand new Faerie dress, and I wanted to show how bright she was in it! Here is a little peek at yesterday afternoon...

Peek at our New Video!

Created by one of our very own Faeries, Miss Amelia, at our Tree House Headquarters! The day all of our Faeries got together to film this movie was heavenly. Imagine all those Faeries, yeah yeah...no really! Imagine them! Do you even know how much make-up and glitter was in our Tree House Headquarters that day? It was incredible. The Faeries braved 6 hours of filming, and about 7 photographers. You can scroll down to see our other blog entries to see some of the photos from that spectacular day.

Thank you Photographers!

Faerie Fae Diddle Diddle and Friends!

Miss Ember

Miss Ember

I have been the Faerie that usually does most of the things around here. From sewing the costumes to taking the photos, I always have my little hands in the project. Last Friday, however, I invited several photographers to the filming our our new movie, and some beautiful pictures are coming back. Here is beautiful picture of Miss Ember, one of our Santa Cruz Faeries. More to come soon!

Fae's New Gown

After many years of upgrading my Faerie dress, I have finally reached complete satisfaction.

I first saw this gown hanging in a little store in Big Sur, Ca many years ago. It is hand made by a local seamstress with beautiful dupioni silk, elaborate silk roses, and corseting up the sides and back. I tried it on, danced around the shop, and then with sadness, put it back on the hanger and left. It has never left my mind. I happened to be traveling by the same little shop 3 years later (last week), and the dress was still there!

I had to save it from it's doom of being covered with dust. Now it can see the light of day, and meet many smiling faces along the way. Hooray!

New Cowgirl Character!

Meet our Cowgirl.
Miss Ember is modeling our brand new costume,
which is fun for both little ladies and gentlemen.

Our Cowgirl has been a long time in the works. Some people who know me personally laugh about the fact that I never, ever wear jeans (I am a skirt and dress person)...so it was hard for me to create a character that is typically centered around jeans. I stumbled upon some jean fabric in the store awhile ago...and just dreaded making pants. I thought...bloomers? Ruffles? Wait......ah-ha! Ruffly jean skirt! Yay!
