Pixar Day!

Phew! A few weeks ago, we were invited to perform at the Pixar campus. Not one, not two...but six of our performers flew in for the big day! It was their 25th anniversary, and it was quite the party! Here are some fun photos that came back from Orange Photography.

Snapping Pictures

Every time we finish a new costume, I get all excited because I can put it into the world and take it's picture! Our performers are so fun to be around (they leave me glowing for days afterwards), and are very patience when I say silly things like, "see that tree over there? yeah. The one hanging over all the poison oak? Well, how about we take a picture with you up in it?! Do you want to climb up there?" There are so incredible...they pretty much always say yes, and the photo turns out even better than I thought it would.

Here are some photos from a shoot we did yesterday at our Head Quarters with Miss Clementine and Miss Olive from our Sacramento Family.

Miss Olive and Miss Clementine attempting a hand clapping game...and failing...but laughing!

Yes, they were really in mid air! I can't even say how many times it took us to get this shot. It is hard to catch a Faerie flying with a camera!

Miss Olive walked by an old barn on our property...and I quickly asked if she wouldn't mind slipping inside. She saw the 100 year old barn, mouse droppings, and shaky boards and said..."absolutely! Let's do it!".

Miss Clementine and Miss Olive in our Redwood Grove. They wanted to climb ON the stump, but after trying to figure out how to do that with petticoats and possibly poison oak covered ankles, we decided sitting behind it would be just fine for now! We are still crossing our fingers that none of us will get the dreaded rash.

Bloomers. As close as we get to pants.

I have been thinking about how to create more characters for little gentlemen, and have had the Magician Character in the back of my mind for awhile. The hardest thing for me...I know it seems funny...is how to wear pants! If you notice, each of our characters wear skirts, which makes it easy for us to move and yet still look fancy. Then, the perfect solution popped up...bloomers! Meet our new Magician Character. Her coat and tails are elegant, and fancy enough for our Faeries to still feel beautiful.

Sometimes we get carried away...

One of my favorite things to do is edit and update our webpage photos. I have to say, I don't like taking the photos (turn your cheek this way...no...no...the other way...um...hold still!), but I love to see them when they are finished!

I just saw the most fun edit to one of our photos...and this time....I didn't even do it! Miss Crimson, one of our Faeries from our Los Angeles Family, just sent me a copy of a drawn version of a photo I took of her and Miss Willow from this past Winter. Take a peek at what she painted!

We know her as Crimson, but her Hooman Alias is (the very talented) Molly Roth!

Party, party, party!!!!

Last night we had our company party (I was going to say annual, but we can't wait that long, we throw them as often as possible!), and I am still in awe over the evenings activities. Not only did every single one of us get to be there...well, except for poor Miss Lina who had strep throat, (from Sacramento to Los Angeles...we all gathered in San Francisco), but it was a night that I will never forget. These girls know how to add life to a dinner party! Miss Violet had us laughing till our sides hurt, and we cried enough happy tears to smear glitter down our cheeks during our award ceremony.

As I finally settled down for dreamland, I replayed the night over and over in my mind. I felt like a 5 year old falling asleep after her own birthday party...which I suppose, is quite fitting for our line of work *smile*.

Happy New Year!
