Thank you Photographers!

Faerie Fae Diddle Diddle and Friends!

Miss Ember

Miss Ember

I have been the Faerie that usually does most of the things around here. From sewing the costumes to taking the photos, I always have my little hands in the project. Last Friday, however, I invited several photographers to the filming our our new movie, and some beautiful pictures are coming back. Here is beautiful picture of Miss Ember, one of our Santa Cruz Faeries. More to come soon!

Sundays make me happy

Sundays are the best...because...I start receiving wonderful emails from grown-ups about the big weekend. Here are a couple that have already come through...and it isn't even Monday yet! *sigh* How fantastic. I just have to say, this weekend was one of those epic ones. We started it by filming a movie with 10 of our Faeries all day on Friday. Then, I visited so many celebrations that I'll be washing the glitter out of my hair for days. I feel...so...lucky.

"Hello Fae Diddle Diddle. I wanted to thank you for sending Miss. Nixie to my daughter's third birthday party on March 20, 2010. Everybody absolutely loved her. She stayed in character from the confirmation phone call till the end of the party. She is truly gifted at what she does. We are all still talking about the gorgeous sparkling face paints. Even the men got their face "

"Just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful party yesterday with the help of Faery Acorn! She was a delightful addition to the festivities. She kept all the children, ages 3 - 11, enthralled with her magic, balloons, and face painting. The adults enjoyed watching her interact with the children as well - lots of smiles all around :). I've attached a picture of her with my son Jackson.

Thank you so much for the fun she provided and we will be sure to pass on your contact information for anyone wanting a bit of magic in their child's special day."

New Fabric Makes a Faerie Happy

I loooove this part of the behind the scenes Faerie work. I just recently went to Faerie heaven=the fabric store. I browsed the shelves for hours, imagining all the things that could be created. I love thinking of different costumes jumping off the shelves, and twirling around. I mix the colors in my mind, shifting them second to second, like the Fairies from Sleeping Beauty with Aurora's gown.

Finally settling on a few fabrics is agonizing...and then finding trims to match...almost a fatal combination. I have ended up on the floor of a fabric store several times with dozens of bolts in my hands thinking....what do I do?!

After picking up fabric for 5 new costumes, I haven't stopped thinking about one of them. I am making a new Circus Girl, and the fabric is spectacular! I'll attach a picture of it so you can see what form it takes over the next 24 hours. Look for photos of the completed costume within the week!

Happily Ever Laughter...up up up and away!

This Sunday was hands down amazing. After a long weekend of performing, I don't often explain everything that happened, as sometimes it ends up being a blur. However, I have found myself telling the story of Sunday's party 2-3 times already...and it is only Monday morning.

It all started with an email from a parent asking us about our availability to visit his daughter's celebration. Normal, yes...except for the last line..."will the Faerie mind arriving via helicopter?". I couldn't believe it.

I arrived to the airport on Sunday in my full Faerie Gown, wings, and fancy hair...knowing that I was to be a secret. I quickly rushed into the office of the helicopter company (http://www.r22r44.com/index.php) and hid in a dark room because I heard the birthday girl's voice. She walked into the office and I heard her dad whisper..."honey, I think I saw a Faerie fly in here...". She peeked her little head around the corner and saw me standing in the dark.

"Oh! Oh!" I exclaimed.

"Are you a real Faerie?" she said.

"Yes, well, that's what my mom says...uh...I'm really scared. I flew in here because it was so windy outside and I needed a place to rest...but then I saw those scary blue things in the garage and I don't know if it is safe for me to be here. " I said.

"Oh! Don't worry, silly faerie. Those are helicopters. They aren't scary." she replied.

"Heli-whaters? Will they eat me?" I gasped.

"No! They don't have mouths!" she squealed.

"I don't know...are you a nice person? I hope I can find someone nice so I don't have to be so scared."

"Don't worry, Faerie...I'm really nice. And the helicopters are fun! Would you like to come with me in one to my party?" she said.

"Oh my. Let's do it!" I said.

I gave Gianna a special pair of pink sparkly wings so we could be matching in the helicopter (yes, my wings fit inside!). We walked together to the helicopter and I asked many questions, which she always replied with confident, calming answers. "Do helicopters take baths? Do they like bubbles? Are you sure they won't eat us?" "Faerie, it is ok, my daddy will keep us safe, and helicopters kind of don't take baths."

We flew over the Monterey Bay, and Gianna pointed out things as we flew along (Look! Birds! Some are as high as us!...and...those cows! They are on the ground!). The day was perfect and the ocean was sparkling. I felt like crying.

The helicopter turned around and we started for the party. The party was held near the office on a cute little lawn. They had marked off a section for us to land with cones. All along the edges of the lawn where Gianna's guests...hands clasped in anticipation.

When the doors opened, Gianna's dad helped me exit the helicopter, and the children got their first glimpse of my wings...oh! Their faces! You should have seen them! They looked like they were about to fall over! I skipped over to them and told them not to worry, "don't worry! The helicop thingy won't eat you! Gianna told me! And it doesn't take baths! Wait...are all of you as nice as Gianna?" I said.

"yes!!!!!! we are!" they cried.

"Oh! Fantastic! Then, is it ok if I stay for awhile and play at your party?!!!!" I giggled.

----

The party was wonderful (each child was able to have a turn in the helicopter!), and I returned home to not only find a incredibly nice review on Yelp.com from Gianna's family, but a cute picture of her...completely passed out after such a big day. I am the happiest faerie in the world...and I think she was the happiest birthday girl.

From Yelp.com....

"Here the quick story: totally amazing.
My daughter and all her friends were enchanted. Fae diddle diddle brought some serious magic when she flew in to our party! My family and friends could not have been more pleased. The face painting was the best I've seen. She was able to do a special mask for every kid and it looked perfect for them. Most face painters have a few designs but Fae is the best of the best at doing this. I've never seen 15, 5 year old kids so amazed and focused. Can't say enough good things.
If you are considering this then get Fae. Book in advance you won't be sorry."

Miss Bunny receives a Yelp.com Review!

Faerie Bunny!
Wow! When we are reviewed on Yelp.com, it just sends me into a tizzy. I am so happy to start our weekend this way! ""If i could give them more stars I would.
They are professional, attentive, fairly priced and above all fun! I wasn't stressing before the party as to whether our princess would show up (which i have read about in reviews about some other party companies) our princess called us days before the party to discuss details and I had her phone number to contact her if anything were to come up.
My daughter chose princess Bunny for her party. She was amazing, we truly felt like we were in a fairy tale. Princess Bunny was gentle, patient and absolutely entertaining. She managed to keep FIFTEEN  3-5year olds absolutely enthralled for an hour and a half. I wouldn't have been able to do that for even five minutes! If you are considering using happily ever laughter for your child's party don't waste your time looking around... this was a truly magical experience! ""

Exceptional Praise for Miss Melody!!!!!

"Hello Miss Fae Diddle Diddle and Miss Melody!

I just wanted to let you know that we were very impressed with Miss Melody. My girls are still talking about her. She was the main attraction for my 3 year old, Emery's birthday party. Emery was just enchanted with Miss Melody. I have never been able to get her to sit for so long. And, when Misss Melody passed her large, magic wand to Emery for her to hold, dueing the magic story time, you would have thought that Miss Melody gave her the lost Arc of the Covenant or something. She stared at that thing, turned it over and over, and held it for so long! The face painting was amazing, as well. All of the kids loved it! And Miss Melody is a master at painting wiggling faces! Even my 1 year old, Lily, climbed up into the chair, after her sisters, so that she could get her face painted as well! She also was mesmerized by Miss Melody. She watched her and watched her and laughed right along side her big sisters! But the music was not what I expected. I thought she would come with a guitare and sit down and tell the kids to sing along with her. But that is not what Miss Melody did...Oh no that would have been way to laid back for this hands on, get up and dance fairy! She jumped up and down, she twirrled, she clapped and stomped! Oh my goodness that girl has some energy! More than one person jokingly commented to me that they want some of what she was on! I told them she is a fairy and it was just magic and happiness. LOL! The sing-along was better than what I had expected.

Both my 6 year old and my 3 year old want to have another fairy party, and want Miss Melody to come back . They were sad to see her go. So, we will be calling again for Miss Melody - or even one of the other Fairy's services. Thank you so much for starting this company Fae Diddle Diddle. It surely was the best party we have ever had or even attended!"
